Early Entry Program: High School Students

The Early Entry program allows students to take general education or introductory-level (100 or 200 level) CSC courses while still in high school. Students must be either a junior or senior, have a recommendation from a high school official, and must meet at least one of the following academic requirements:

  • 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 90% cumulative GPA in high school
  • ACT composite score of at least 20 or equivalent
  • ACT sub-score of 20 in the area related to the course
  • Rank in upper 1/3 of high school class

Early Entry courses are billed at the current and standard on-campus or online course rate. There is no discount.

How to Apply and Get Started

Make sure to read and complete each step outlined below:

  1. Read the Disclaimers below prior to requesting enrollment.
  2. *New Students: please complete the Early-Entry admissions application by clicking the button below.
    • *You are new if this is your first time taking courses at CSC.
    • If you completed an application as an incoming freshman for Fall, you will still need to complete an Early-Entry (Non-Degree Seeking) application.

  3. New and Returning Students: Complete the Early Entry Enrollment Request Form along with your High School Counselor or Principal.
    • Use the Class Search function to see what is available by term or contact Admissions for assistance.
  4. Check your EagleMail. You will be sent an Enrollment Confirmation once our office has processed your enrollment. You should check EagleMail at least once a week.
  5. Read and understand the add, drop and withdraw dates for each term/session.
  6. Check with the bookstore to see if/which text is required for your course. Purchase your book(s) online. Keep your receipt in case you need to make an exchange.
  7. Attend class.
  8. Make payment for your course(s) by the payment deadline of the term or session.

Students taking Early Entry courses are held to the same regulations as any other CSC student--this includes add, drop and withdraw deadlines and payment deadlines. Students and parents should review these deadlines in advance:

ACE Scholarship

Students who receive one or more of the following benefits may be eligible to receive scholarship funding toward the cost of their Early Entry tuition through the Access College Early (ACE) program.

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Free/Reduced Price Lunch Program
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Other Extreme Hardship

Students should work with their HS counselor to complete the application and submit required supporting documentation. Check with your HS Counselor for details or visit: Access College Early (ACE) program.

ACE Scholarship funding is not guaranteed. If the student has applied for the ACE scholarship but is not approved or granted ACE funding, the student/parent is responsible for the full payment of the course. It is best to apply early, however decisions about funding are often not made until after the 100% drop/refund period has expired. Please keep this in mind when you enroll.
